More about our Company:
Home Instead Senior Care is part of a network of over 1000 Home Instead Senior Care offices around the world.  As the world leader in non-medical care for seniors we are looking for the best, most dependable individuals with a genuine heart for seniors in our community.  Our CAREGivers come to us with a high degree of compassion, a strong work history and exceptional relationship skills.  Our Saskatoon office is locally owned and operated by Karen and Greg Charyna.
More about the CAREGiver Postiton:
The services we provide to our clients are individually customized to their needs and are provided wherever they call home - house, condo, assisted living facility, personal care home or long term care facility.  In any place and at any stage of aging we support families by providing personalized care to their loved one including:  companionship, home help, personal care, dementia care and night care.   Home help involves assisting with light housekeeping, meal preparation, running errands or escorting people on outings.  Our CAREGivers are trained to assist our seniors who may need help with personal care such as feeding, bathing, dressing or grooming.  Approximately 50% of our clients live with Alzheimer’s Disease or other Dementias.  We provide a comprehensive dementia care training to our CAREGivers so they are equipped to help these individuals remain safe and content in their home environment.  We have shift opportunities during the night – either sleepovers or awake bedside care.  All of our services focus on companionship, with many hours spent nurturing a positive relationship and enriching an older person’s life.
More about Scheduling:
We offer part-time hours with day, evening, weekend and overnight shifts available.   Shifts are a minimum of 3 hours each, up to 12, according to each CAREGiver’s availability.  To successfully build a CAREGiver’s schedule we work with the availability each CAREGiver can reliably offer.  CAREGivers are assigned consistent days and hours each week – for example every Tuesday evening or every Thursday 8-5.  Consistent availability enables us to provide continuous care (same CAREGiver) to a client.  Our goal is to match our CAREGivers to our clients for regular service based on availability, background and personality.  CAREGivers who provide a wide range of availability easily build their clientele.  Our client's care needs change regularly and as such we do not guarantee CAREGivers any number of hours or a regular routine, so if you need a steady schedule and income this may not be the job for you.
More about Wages:
Starting wages are $11.00 and $12.00 depending on the services being provided - wages increase as training is completed, with the highest CAREGiver wage at $13.00 for dementia care.  Candidates with Continuing Care Aide Certificate may be considered for wages ranging from $12 to $14 per hour.  10 hour sleepover night shifts pay $102.50.  We provide extensive ongoing training as well as 24/7 support to our CAREGivers.
Make Time in Your Life to Care for Seniors! :
This is not a typical job – our CAREGivers tell us it is a rare opportunity.  Many of our CAREGivers come to us after retiring from a successful career or a personal experience caring for a loved one.  Caring for our seniors is a way to give back to the community, as well as to grow in your professional skills as a CAREGiver and most of all, to experience the satisfaction of supporting a family by helping their senior loved one remain at home.  If you have experience caring for a loved one or an older adult… if you desire truly rewarding work… if you wish to become a professional CAREGiver along with 65,000 others who have joined the world leader in non-medical senior care then we invite you to apply today.
